Walkover

The various opposition parties are eyeing 9 GRCs including Aljunied, Ang Mo Kio, Sembawang and East Coast - all to be contested by the Workers' Party. The Singapore Democratic Party is trying to contest two GRCs - Jurong and Holland-Bukit Timah and the Singapore Democratic Alliance is planning to field at least three teams to contest Pasir Ris-Punggol, Jalan Besar and Tampines.

What this means...I don't get to vote again!

Crashing upset

Well, the Oscars is over.. no surpises but one. The BIG one. Philip Seymour Hoffman was Best Actor in "Capote," while ReeseWitherspoon's performance in "Walk the Line," earned her the Best Actress. Rachel Weisz won the Best Supporting Actress "The Constant Gardener," George Clooney won Best Supporting Actor for "Syriana" and last but not least Lee Ang (yes, it's Lee Ang not Ang Lee you Americans) got Best Director for "Brokeback Mountain." "Crash" pulled the upset of the night by winning the Best Picture over highly favored gay romance "Brokeback Mountain." This is a big surpise as the best director winner almost alway win best picture. I bet it's because they do not want a film about GAY COWBOYS to win, you?
