Grand Slam?

Roger Federer destroyed Chile's Fernando Gonzales yesterday to win the Australian Open. The masterful Federer captured his 10th Grand Slam singles title without dropping a set throughout the whole Open! And mind you, Gonzales played very well yesterday despite the scoreline of 7-6 (2), 6-4, 6-4. However, Federer had an answer to everything. Even in the first set when Gonzales did everything right and got the break of serve (he had 2 set points), Federer broke back to force the tie-break. Rafael Nadal better be ready, his French Open title is the only thing that could stop the Grand Slam.

NN2 & Oblivion (after 1 week)

After a week of playing both games at once (not as fun as it sounds), this is my impression of Neverwinter Nights 2 & Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

-Neverwinter Nights 2: Very similar to Neverwinter Nights; if you like the first game, you will enjoy this one. The story is a slow burn though and it takes a while before you even get to the City of Neverwinter. All the classes available in Neverwinter Nights are also in this one, so that is a plus and the story is pretty good. There is an actual difference between Lawful and Chaotic Good, how many D&D games can say that. A minus is that the game is almost too similar to Neverwinter Nights and despite the graphics hardware needed, I don't see how it is better than the first game. If anything, the graphics in the first game are slightly better.

-Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: Better than Morrowind. By far! And that is saying something because I love Morrowind. The basic game haven't changed much; huge land to explore, many quests to solve and many enemies to kill. The main city is HUGE! You will get lost many times just in the city if not for the great map. A big complain of mine in Morrowind was the stupid map which at times show you nothing but a big black mass for you to explore. I once spend an hour looking for one location because I miss it and had to double back. No such problem in Oblivion! The story unfortunately still sucks but you will be too busy exploring the various cities, towns and countryside to worry about saving the world from the demon world of Oblivion. At least that's what happened to me. The countless side-quests will have you going all over the place, so there is always something to do. Which quest to do first is the problem.

Overall, both games are excellent with some problems of course. NN2 has the better story but Oblivion has better gameplay. I will concentrate more on NN2 as it is story-driven which means I can finish it faster. Oblivion is the kind of game you can only enjoy fully if you have time to slowly explore every part of it. It will take you months! Yes, it is that big.

Neverwinter Nights 2 & Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

After too long a wait, finally I have my hands on both Neverwinter Nights 2 & Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion yesterday. My, my, my...the intro of Oblivion is nothing short of great. Very LOTR. Just started, so not much I can say about the games but NN 2 interface wasn't as good as NN while Oblivion look better even though NN 2 graphics requirement is higher. Figure that one out. Later updates on the gameplay but both look promising so far, so sleepless night awaits!

Fantastic 4 Rise of the Silver Surfer Trailer

Just saw the movie trailer of Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer, where the surfer gave Johnny Storm a good beating without breaking a sweat. The surfer was ok, not great but not as bad as say...the Hulk. I know, I know, fanboys love the surfer but I rather he not be in the new movie. I WANT TO SEE NAMOR!
