New Season of EPL

Hello! In a blink of an eye, the new EPL season is now upon us. Last year's champions Chelsea will of course be the hot bet to be champions again, but can anyone beat them to be the new No.1 of England? Can anyone break the big 4 of England?

The short answer to that is NO! This season is Chelsea's to lose and they are still the team everyone has to beat. The problem for loud-mouth Jose Mourinho is keeping all his players happy. I cannot see how he can put Essien, Makelele, Lampard, Ballack, Robben, Drogba and Shevchenko all on the same team. Gallas already said that he want to go, others will follow. Outside that...they will be extremely difficult to beat especially at Stamford Bridge. Champions again.

Last year, they were 4th. But I think it was because of the Champions league. With the maturing of the youths they have, I think Arsenal will finish 2nd. They can't match Chelsea in terms of the chequebook but they are young and hungry. And they still have Henry! Arsene Wenger's new boy, Tomas Rosicky, has a good World Cup and looked a solid player. Maybe they are a little too young, so I think they will settle in for 2nd.

They've bought in Jermaine Pennant so that Steven Gerrard doesn't have to play there. They got Craig Bellamy to give them so much needed firepower upfront. They now are going for Dirk Kuyt. They bought in a lot of players...too many players! There's competition for places in the team but with all the new players, they will need time to gel. By the time they managed that, Chelsea might be 10, 20 points in front of Liverpool by then. 3rd for Liverpool.

Wayne Rooney is back and they will have Paul Scholes fit again. But they shouldn't have got rid of van Nistelrooy. Saha is good but he is not van Nistelrooy. With only Smith, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Louis Saha upfront, I think they will really struggle for goals. I also don't think Micheal Carrick is worth 18.6 million. They can still be a class act but they will struggle.

And that is an opening for Tottenham. Last year's position of 5th was a bit of a disappointment. This year they will be 4th! Ledley King and Robbie Keane will miss the first few games but with Dimitar Berbatov, goals will not be a problem. Martin Jol has put a nice spine to the team and like their hated enemies, Arsenal, they're quite young and hungry. They will be 4th and Man U will be 5th.

Of course this is football so I could be totally wrong!
